About Artist:
Hi! My name is Mahnoor Fatima and I am twelve years old. I am in Grade 7 and I study at Beaconhouse Potohar Campus. I was born in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, and ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of being creative and becoming an amazing artist. That is the reason why I wanted to participate in this competition. I really want to showcase my skills and ability to the audience. Therefore, in my opinion, this competition is a great opportunity for all students to show their skills.
Artist Statement:
Apertura is a 3D art piece that explores how light and shadows can change the way we see a structure.
The box-like form has arch-shaped windows on all sides, allowing light to pass through and create interesting patterns. Inside, coloured translucent materials reflect and filter the light in different ways.
It is inspired by Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana.
As the light changes, so does the mood of the piece.
It invites people to notice small changes and think about how light shapes our surroundings.
