About Artist:
My name is Zara Farhan. I am thirteen years old and a student in Class 8 at Beaconhouse Ring Road Campus.
My artwork explores the connection between light and shadow by showcasing the contrast between the modern and vintage eras. I am inspired by my mother and nature. My hobby is creating new things and exploring the world of art. I also have a YouTube channel where I share my art and craft videos.
Artist Statement:
Have you ever stood still and felt the past around you?
This artwork is a reflection of time how shadows from history still shape our future, and how even the smallest light can lead to something new.
I used recycled materials like rope, paper, and drawings of ancient and old textures to give life to the forgotten to show that the past still speaks through what we leave behind. You’ll see watching eyes, ancient sketches, and natural elements all telling stories of invention, knowledge, and memory.
Thinkers like Aristotle once dreamed of flying and now, in our world of jets, helicopters, and rockets, those dreams are real. That’s the power of reflection turning thought into action.
The outside of my sculpture shows the shadows of the past, but when you look inside, there’s light, green leaves, and growth a future waiting to bloom.
And just like time itself, my project moves forward: this digital video helps carry my message even further showing how art is no longer just physical. We now share ideas through screens, through light and pixels connecting the past and future in a whole new way.
My message is simple:
The past is our shadow.
The present is our reflection.
The future is our light.
This is more than just a sculpture it’s a digital time capsule a journey from old roots to future dreams.
