Artist Statement:
Back in the old times, these kinds of old, Pakistani architectures and structures were well-known; apparently, we don’t see them how we used to. Most importantly, going all out on the details referred to how much I wanted it to give a sense of ‘Forgotten History’. However, the main purpose was to highlight how old things, which were once grand to us, can lose their actual characteristics and could become something we wouldn’t expect. This mainly refers to humanity. I decided to use ‘Architecture’ as an idea to express my point regarding our world and how we change. Using bold and heavily contrasted colours, which could make the viewer feel slight chills, could provide them a question on ‘why turn it so aggressive’. The tone and design indicates how rapidly humanity changes each century.
