Bazaar Of My City (Empress Market Saddar, Karachi)

Hamza Hassaan

Description :

My drawing is representing the busy market located in Saddar, Karachi. It is the Empress Market which is an old and huge market with a variety of everything available at a reasonable price like fruits and vegetables. The drawing shows people gathered around the market. Some are buying fruits and vegetables, while some are roaming around. The Empress Market was designed by the architect named James Starchan. It is one of the busiest and oldest markets. I used watercolours for the painting and a thin marker for the outlines. I got this idea after visiting the Empress Market.
