Bazaars of Multan

Minahil Ali

Description :

In this picture I showed the view of a busy bazaar that is not busy anymore due to coronavirus. On the left side are well known companies and brands in Pakistan. The right side focuses on a view of a blue masjid. There are many cars facing the famous companies and shops on the right. The vendors are mostly selling food such as watermelon, biryani, and gol gappay. Many vehicles of transportation are driving on the street, such as a buses, rickshaws, cars and motorcycles. There are vehicles going in both directions. Less people are shown in the photo as people are following Coronavirus SOPs. The girl at the bottom middle of the painting is myself, and in this picture I am drawing the scene that unfurls in front of me. On my canvas in the picture, I have begun to make the shop outlines. I created this picture by first drawing the outline of the road. I drew the masjid by looking at a masjid near my house and tweaking a few of its features. Next I drew Beechtree with a clothing display. Then I drew Bank Al-Habib with its logo on the door, and Shangrilla with a donut signifying the sweets area. I filled in the multiple cars and motorcycles on the border of the left side shops. As I drew the left side i was also simultaneously drawing the right so that I could keep the picture balanced. I drew the outlining of the vehicles on the roads and then drew the vendor’s shops. To add tiny details, I tried to use many different colors and drew in some people, because a bazaar can never be finished without people. Then I drew myself at the beginning of the paintings, holding a paintbrush. I colored in this picture using markers and color pencils, but not paint.
