Bazaars of Sheikhupura

Hareem Ahmad

Description :

This is my perspective of the bazaars of sheikhupura. The entrance gate of Jinnah park bazaar and the border is drawn from scratch. The bazaars are dusty with buildings that need to be repainted. So, the use of saturated colors is avoided. I’ve assigned characteristics of animals to living and nonliving. I’ve associated cunning traits of a fox with sellers. There are mannequins meant to attract customers. Since peacocks are known to flaunt their beauty,I’ve associated them with mannequins. Its wings are substituted by roti trays.I’ve used images of traditional rugs as background for the jewelry and Pedlars.
