My artwork is about me and my friends. Out of all the things in the world, my expression of happiness are my friends. Never have I ever felt upset with them, and never have I ever been bored when hanging out with them. Each second we spend together is cherished deeply, and hanging out with them always makes me happy, whether it be in person or online, and at times, it even makes me feel ecstatic. And as for what my artwork shows; I drew a real and very special memory of me and my friends. When in 3rd grade, we would always talk during art classes, and would sometimes even have a singing contest, except it wasn’t really a contest, since we never said that someone else could sing better then the other, and we all just had genuine fun hanging out. It’s special to me, because it was something that we used to do daily, didn’t care about anyone else listening in on us, and it was the only time of the day where me and my friends could all hang out together without any interruptions. We don’t get many chances to do that anymore, and it’s special because it’s nostalgic and manages to always make me smile whenever I remember it.
First, I created a rough sketch on a paper. I took a screenshot of my rough sketch on my sister’s iPhone, and traced my finished drawing over it. The entire digital process was made on Ibis Paint X, a free drawing app. The artwork took 28 hours and 17 minutes in total, breaks unincluded, and the process started on June 24 and was finished today on June 26. The amount of layers used were 353. Except the rough sketch, everything else was made digitally.
