The Reflection of Twins

Artist Name: Timothy Jacob H. Chan

About Artist:

Hi, I’m Timothy, but my friends and family call me Tim. I am 12 years old and currently in Year 8 at Beaconhouse Sri Inai International School. I enjoy spending my time drawing and reading.

Artist Statement:

This artwork is inspired by the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. The scenery is based on a view from a particular spot at KLCC Park, and the reference photo was taken by Andrew Robins. I chose the Petronas Towers because they symbolize unity, harmony, stability, and rationality. They are one of the finest examples of architecture in Malaysia.

Another reason I chose this landmark is that it’s always on our checklist whenever family members visit us in Malaysia. When I saw this picturesque photo, I knew I had to paint it the image itself captures a stunning sunset.

To create this piece, I used poster colours for the entire painting and experimented with different techniques for the clouds, sunset, vegetation, stones, and surrounding buildings. I put a lot of hard work and love into this . I hope you enjoy my masterpiece!
