Artist Name: Zahra Ahmed Siddiqi
About Artist:
My name is Zahra Ahmed Siddiqi, and I’m a self-taught artist. I love to draw and paint, and I’m also learning to sketch. Canvas painting using pastel acrylics is my favourite medium, as it looks pretty and serene. I have loved art since I was a little kid because creating artwork relaxes me. Art is my way of expressing myself, and I hope to make my name in the world as an inspiring artist. I want to learn more in this field and experiment with different mediums. I also wish to explore digital art and sculpting to satisfy my creativity and soul. As Pablo Picasso said, “The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
Artist Statement:
The title of my artwork is “Twilight Scene.” It depicts a city where night is about to fall. The theme of my painting is how light is reflected through architecture. I have always found buildings and structures after sunset very beautiful, especially as the colours of the sky begin to change. While creating this painting, I blended different shades of blue and purple to make the sky appear as if night is just setting in. I was inspired by those moments at dusk when the shadows grow long and the world transitions into night.
