About Artist:
My name is Samaryar Khan, and I am 12 years old. My favourite hobbies are making art, playing sports (such as football), and playing mobile games. I’m inspired by many people in the world of art. Whenever I finish a piece, I feel proud of myself, and the pleasure I get when someone appreciates my effort makes me even more inspired to keep creating. My favourite subject is Islam, and I want to learn more about different prophets. Everyone tells me that I’m good at English, but I personally think I’m not that good at math.
Artist Statement:
I call this artwork “Valley of the Golden Bell.” When I first looked at it, the name “A Peaceful Valley” came to mind, but I later changed it to the current title. This artwork is a simple sketch of mountains, trees, buildings, and other peaceful elements. It is made on A3-sized paper. I combined three themes in the sketch nature, medieval, and futuristic architecture. Since the topic is reflection, I showed the reflection of everything in the ocean. I created this artwork entirely by myself, without any reference.
What makes art fun is the freedom it gives we can create anything that comes to mind. No artwork is perfect, and neither is mine. Even if I don’t win, I’m still glad to have been part of this amazing competition that spreads the joy of art across the globe!
