You are just a grin

Fatima Mazhar

Description :

The main idea of the artwork is to show pieces of one person, how even one person stretches and contorts their expression of happiness for various reasons. People are never one sided, and that isn’t an inherently bad thing. In the middle we can see the most authentic version of this person we’ve constructed in our head. Her smile is completely genuine. Then you see the blue one, she’s the polite side of this person. The side that tidies their own personality up to not be a bother, and the pink one is her at her happiest, she’s grinning in a way that may seem immature but its pure and honest. I used the colors to sort of represent this, the range of cool to mid-warm to warm shows how ‘true’ each face is. You can also see how the colors sort of melt into each other, its to show that they are not different people, that they are one in the same.
