The Joy in Hugs

Description :

The way I express and feel happiness the most is when I receiving hugs. I wanted to capture the emotions surrounding what could be a simple hug but invokes a range of emotions. I did this by using bright colors particularly yellow in a watercolor like effect in the background. These warm toned colors symbolize the emotions I feel whenever I receive a hug especially from friends and family. I hope to convey that feeling to others as well by showcasing my characters in the center with lighting that focuses on them. The process is shown in the doc below.

Mixed Media Art:

Mixed media is a term used to describe artworks composed from a combination of different media or materials. Students can combine a variety of media and artistic techniques to create the Art piece. The painting and drawing techniques may include layering, texturizing, slicing, weaving, collage and creating a peeled paint effect. The materials that can be used vary from cloth, wood, paper, paint, metal, stones, and more. In this type of art different media or materials are mixed into one piece.

Art Work will be submitted in the form of images. Below are the image submission specifications.

  • Supported Image formats: The image may be uploaded in any one of the formats i.e. JPG/JPEG or PNG
  • Allowed file sizes: The image size should not exceed 10MB.
  • Dimensions for Image: The images should be in landscape mode.
