Between Land and Sky

Artist Name: Maria Faizan

About Artist:

I am Maria Faizan from Grade 8 Red. Art is my passion, and I love to participate in competitions.

Artist Statement:

I’ve always been fascinated by the way things change depending on how we see them. A solid structure can feel weightless in water, and a reflection can make the familiar look completely new. In this piece, I wanted to capture that sense of quiet transformation the way stillness and movement, reality and illusion, exist together. There’s something calming about watching reflections how they shift with the light and ripple with the water. This painting is about that feeling of balance, perspective, and seeing things in a different way. I hope it makes you pause for a moment, take a breath, and maybe even look a little longer.

Mixed Media Art:

Mixed media is a term used to describe artworks composed from a combination of different media or materials. Students can combine a variety of media and artistic techniques to create the Art piece. The painting and drawing techniques may include layering, texturizing, slicing, weaving, collage and creating a peeled paint effect. The materials that can be used vary from cloth, wood, paper, paint, metal, stones, and more. In this type of art different media or materials are mixed into one piece.
