Artist Statement:
I am more fond of drawing portraits; however, I decided to pick up a pen and sketch a view of the Blue Mosque. It is not an exaggeration to say that I’ve discovered a new interest. The way sunlight reflects off the dome and walls brings life and soul to the structure. The light delicately carves out an extraordinarily captivating view of the mosque the shadows redefine certain areas while the sunlight accentuates others. An almost indescribable feeling overwhelms me the sunlight, a blessing from God, illuminating a place built to worship Him, evokes a sense of divine grace. The two sunlight, symbolizing divine enlightenment, and the mosque, representing man’s pursuit of God coexist in harmony, stirring a feeling from the depths of one’s heart that is beyond words.
