About Artist:
I am Fatima Rashid, an eighth grader at Beaconhouse. I am 14 years old and have had a great passion for art since my childhood. I love drawing and painting different subjects and experimenting with new styles of art.
Artist Statement:
My inspiration for this painting is the idiom “look for the silver lining.” It shows that no matter how hard life gets, there is always some hope. Just like in the painting, all the surroundings are dark and gray, but the light glowing from the windows symbolizes happiness, warmth, comfort, and hope. It gives the viewer a message: if you are surrounded by problems and hardships, don’t worry there is always a way out, a path of hope and optimism. Just look for the silver lining.
