Timelight: Reflection from the past,Shadows of the Present, Light for Tomorrow

Artist Name: Shanzay sarwar

About Artist:

Hey, I’m Shanzay, a self-inspired artist. When I was in school up till Class KG-2, I had no friends and was bullied for my ‘bad drawing’, even though it was better than the others. I had fake friends and was used, so I spent most of my time alone reading books or drawing. Reading took my imagination to another level, making my mind come up with the most amazing ideas. Now, I have great friends, but I still adore art and I’m always itching to draw. I work with anything I’m provided, and it is my goal to make anything amazing.

Artist Statement:

This 3D artwork contains two frames and one projection, which display the progress of ‘sustainable change’ through light, shadows, and reflection.

The first frame is transparent and has some black images on it, reflecting moments that have come by. These are small and not very clear, showing that time is moving onwards and we are forgetting our past.

The next frame has a net cloth covering. There are images showing how the earth is right now in devastation as people are wrecking it. The images are shown with a lot of shadows, showing that this is a dark time.

After that, there is a projection which showcases the best future, which is better for all. Shadows are removed, to show that there is no more darkness left, and the light’s intensity is greater, showing that there is more hope. This future is a balance of technology with nature, and the earth’s resources are being used properly. If humans reflect on their mistakes today, we can all have an amazing future.
