Glossy Strawberry

I made a strawberry dipped in syrup. I chose to make this because I thought it was a good idea. This is one of my first realistic drawings which I colored in. I was inspired to draw this after watching a few videos and decided to turn it into something I wanted. I switched the colors and the way they were positioned. This artwork took me approximately 2 hours. I used different mediums for this. First, I sketched out the shape of the strawberry and then I sketched out the drips. I then experimented with a few color combinations and then used watercolor-based markers to fill it in. I left out some spaces for the glossy highlights. I then used colored pencils to shade on top of the work. In the end, I added highlights using a Blanco since I did not have a white gel pen and finished it off by shading with a white colored pencil to add some shine, especially in the leaves and blue drips. Overall enjoyed the whole process of creating this artwork as it cleared my mind and as it was my first realistic colored drawing where I got to blend and experiment with the colors, I am happy with the results.
