The Gold Empress Market

Shanze Junaid Alam

Description :

I first started by looking at images of the markets in Karachi and then I came across the Empress market. I looked at a few more images and then after looking at the pictures I did some research and found out that the empress market is the oldest place in Karachi. So this inspired me to draw it since it is the oldest place in Karachi. Then I started to draw the building but during the process I found something new. I found out that the empress market is not only the oldest but it is also the pride and joy of Karachi. It gives light and ambition to this city, people come from all around the world to come see it. Even the locals are very fond of this old building, it is also a meeting point for some. So then I got this idea to make it look like it is slowly fading and when it is fading it is slowly turning into gold.
