Breaking through the darkness

Artist Name: Momina Noor Malik

About Artist:

I am a student at the Tipu Sultan campus and I take Art as a subject. I am in O2, and I want to see everything through the eye of art.

Artist Statement:

This painting depicts dark and light colours showing the journey from trauma to healing. Cracked, broken textures in the background resemble ruins, symbolising the fractured state of the soul after trauma. However, the vibrant colours and flowing lines represent flexibility and hope growing among the wreckage. The exposed brain and heart convey vulnerability, yet their bold depiction shows strength in this openness. The tension between decay and vibrancy illustrates how hope persists, even among the ruins of the soul, suggesting the possibility of healing and rebirth. The painting represents the positive aura that one has and the effect of it on its surroundings. The dark in the back reflects the mystery of life, the thoughts of the mind, and the confusion of survival.
