Description :

This picture shows a traditional bazaar on the east coast of Malaysia where vendors mainly comprise women selling herbs, fruits, and vegetables. This painting in which acrylic paint is used includes various techniques, such as paper mosaic for the clothes of the main three vendors. Collage work using pieces of corrugated board is used for the mat. To create texture of the ground, pieces of pulp fiber cups are glued before being painted over. Baskets were shaped with lace mash and strings, toothpicks were added to the straw hats and lastly shiny plastic beads were used as buttons for the vendor’s clothes to make it more interesting.

Mixed media is a term used to describe artworks composed from a combination of different media or materials. Students can combine a variety of media and artistic techniques to create the Art piece. The painting and drawing techniques may include layering, texturizing, slicing, weaving, collage and creating a peeled paint effect. The materials that can be used vary from cloth, wood, paper, paint, metal, stones, and more. In this type of art different media or materials are mixed into one piece.

Art Work will be submitted in the form of images. Below are the image submission specifications.

  • Supported Image formats: The image may be uploaded in any one of the formats i.e. JPG/JPEG or PNG
  • Allowed file sizes: The image size should not exceed 10MB.
  • Dimensions for Image: The images should be in landscape mode.
