Bye Bye COVID-19

Sheza Anwar

Description :

When I started making this piece of art, I became nostalgic recalling the time when I used to visit Sunday market with my mom. There used to be stalls of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and other food items. Alas! We got hit by the pandemic in 2020 and there was a complete lockdown on such markets. Even after relaxation in lockdown, we stopped going their to avoid risk. I became sad while making my drawing but the very next moment, my flight of imagination brought a wave of optimism. I jumped into the future and started imagining the time when there would be no more COVID-19 and we would be free to visit such places without having fear of catching this virus. I would be accompanying my mom and buying things of my choice. I would be once again helping hand of my mom for weekly shopping. My drawing portrays the scene of Sunday market showing lot of stalls of fruits, vegetable and other food items.
