Life and Culture

hana mahakan

Description :

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said that culture opens the sense of beauty; this encouraged me to create this artwork. Floating markets have been part of Thai culture since the Ayutthaya period. I chose this as my inspiration because it just screams ‘THAILAND’ for me, I mean there must be so many other countries that have floating markets, but I chose to focus on my own opinion and it does fit the theme, bizarre. Floating Markets are basically markets on boats, which make them unique and interesting. The colours for my artwork are bright and rich but are neutral at the same time because I thought it would be more eye-catching and cozy.
