Mask of Happiness

Jules Mathew E. Rabino

Description :

One of the ways we may express our happiness is by smiling, not just a simple smile, but a broad smile that transforms the shape of our eyes. My artwork was inspired by the “Masskara Festival” in the Philippines, which is held in the Bacolod City province of Negros Occidental. Furthermore, this city is known as the “City of Smiles”. The festival created to bring smiles back to the inhabitants’ faces despite the difficulties and tragedies they experiencing. Lastly, I used materials that is available in our home. I included vibrant elements in the design to make it more vivid.
