The Hidden Culture of Pakistan

Maah Baloch

Description :

My art work is about the old markets located in Pakistani, Karachi in the area of Sadder. Over there, there are many old buildings and below them can be found many markets, mostly of food. I made my work from pens and did all my shading with it, I used only lines and basic shaped to draw my art. This shows that the building in my art work is extremely old but yet has so much life in it as below it, there is much to be seen. I did not add any colour and like I said, I used basic lines and pens which have a bigger meaning under their surface level meaning showing that our old buildings have uniqueness and old culture within them, they don’t have much colour or any modern look to them, they are simple and yet very aesthetically pleasing. The old buildings are not yet demolished which shows how antique and precious they are, instead however, markets are made underneath them, new shops are opened and many people come to visit these places on daily basis, this way they can see how modern and old or simple can still get along with each other and look great.
