Artist Name: Hiba Jamal
About Artist:
Hi, I’m Hiba, and I’m 13. Art is my way of seeing the world. I love how colours blend and shapes come to life when I’m painting or drawing. Shading and colouring are like magic to me, adding depth and feeling to everything I create. Crafting lets me explore different textures and materials it’s so much fun! Sometimes my mind feels like a whirlwind, but art helps me find my calm. Through my art, I share how I see things, the colours I feel, and the stories I want to tell. It’s my passion.
Artist Statement:
I am an autistic child, and my mind is a room where light enters through a window, shaping shadows and structure. The window is hope allowing light to break through, define space, and give form to the unseen. Shadows are not merely an absence; they create balance, shaping my thoughts and emotions.
The black painting and black bed symbolize the parts of my life that need focus and care. They are not emptiness, but elements that call for understanding. My art explores how light and shadow build structure not just in space, but in the mind bringing both order and peace.
