I am a thirteen-year-old art lover. I sell my paintings online through my Instagram account. I feel I have an inborn talent for producing artworks. I started drawing at the age of five. Seeing my potential, my mother set up a little art studio for me at the age of nine, and my elder sister created my Instagram account to give me a platform to showcase my talent and sell my paintings online. I have participated in many art contests organised by Beaconhouse School, ICATS art contests, A2Z art contest, The Little Art, etc., and received gold medals.
Artist Statement:
This mixed-media artwork depicts a tranquil scene, where a majestic castle stands at the bank of a river. Crafted from cardboard, the castle’s relief texture adds depth and beauty. Real pebbles are glued outside the castle, showing a sense of rugged, natural beauty. Soft clouds made with cotton drift across the sky, their reflection creating gentle ripples on the water. The castle’s reflection shimmers on the water, creating a sense of symmetry and harmony. The sunlight casts its warm glow.
The inspiration was to capture the perfect harmony between nature and architecture. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the way the light danced on the water’s surface. I wanted to show that sense of beauty and serenity in this piece. By combining these elements, I aimed to create a sense of balance and harmony, reminding us that even in turbulent times, peace and serenity can be found.
The clock’s simplified form and the slightly naive rendering of objects underscore the personal, emotional connection we have with time, how it stretches and compresses in our perception. This piece invites contemplation on our own relationship with time’s passage, finding beauty and showing the enduring presence of objects that hold our memories.
